General Product Information: The gold conjugate dilution buffer is intended for the resuspension and dilution of gold conjugates dried on a conjugate
matrix. The buffer stabilizes the conjugate and
promotes rapid reconstitution. The special formulation helps maintain the conjugate integrity throughout the desiccation and lyophilization process. The stabilizer helps minimize streaking and ghosting of colloidal gold conjugates on
nitrocellulose membranes, which may interfere with interpretation of qualitative results. The formulation also helps maintain uniform conjugate flow through the nitrocellulose reaction area.
The buffer is formulated with a blocking protein and surfactants, which block nonspecific binding to the membrane and minimize aggregate formation of the gold conjugate. Other proprietary ingredients improve the flow characteristics of the
re-hydrated conjugate and improve the stability of the dried conjugate. This buffer formulation has been used in commercially available pregnancy test kits. Custom formulations can be prepared upon request.
