Antithrombin III is a serum protease inhibitor that inhibits the blood coagulation protease, thrombin, and is an important regulator of hemostasis. Normal serum levels are approximately 24mg/dL.

Clinical conditions associated with low levels of Antithrombin III are venous thromboembolism and liver disease. Elevated levels may be detected in patients with deep vein thrombosis and septicemia.

Human Antithrombin III is supplied in both a lyophilized form (cat. no. A2814) and a liquid form (cat. no. A2824). The liquid form is supplied in 20mM Tris, pH 8.0. Both preparations are >95% by SDS-PAGE.
