Antithrombin III

General Product Information

Human Antithrombin III is supplied in both a lyophilized form (A2814) and a liquid form (A2824). The liquid form is supplied in 20mM Tris, pH 8.0. Both preparations are >95% by SDS-PAGE.

Antithrombin III is a serum protease inhibitor that inhibits the blood coagulation protease thrombin and is an important regulator of hemostasis. Normal serum levels are approximately 24mg/dL. Clinical conditions associated with low levels of Antithrombin III are venous thromboembolism and liver disease. Elevated levels may be detected in patients with deep vein thrombosis and septicemia.
