α1-Acid Glycoprotein belongs to the α1-globulin family of human plasma proteins and contains approximately 42% carbohydrate. Normal human plasma levels are 55-140mg/ml. This plasma protein acts as an acute phase protein that is elevated in cases of trauma, inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, and some malignancies. It can be decreased in cases of inflammatory syndrome. This preparation of α1-Acid Glycoprotein (cat. no. A1614) is isolated from human plasma and lyophilized in distilled water. Purity is >98% by SDS-PAGE.
