Alkaline Phosphatase

Alkaline Phosphatase

Scripps Laboratories is a world-leading producer and supplier of Alkaline Phosphatase. Various preparations are available and are listed below. Please visit each product page to view individual product specifications.

Alkaline Phosphatase catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate esters yielding alcohols and phosphate. It is a dimer made up of two nearly identical subunits, each with a molecular weight of 69,000 Daltons. Each subunit contains two molecules of zinc, necessary for stability and catalytic activity. This enzyme is useful as an indicator enzyme when coupled to antibodies used in enzyme-based immunoassay systems.

These preparations of Alkaline Phosphatase are purified from bovine intestines. They are supplied in liquid form, using a buffer consisting of 5mM tris, 5mM magnesium chloride, 0.1mM zinc chloride, 50% glycerol, pH 7.0.
