This preparation of Neuron-Specific Enolase is isolated from human brain and supplied as a liquid in 100mM Tris-HCl, 5mM Magnesium Sulfate, 250mM Potassium Chloride, adjusted to pH 5.1 ± 0.1 using Sodium Phosphate. Protein concentration is determined by absorbance at A280 using an extinction coefficient of 0.895 (Emg/ml = 0.895). Activity is reported by an in-house assay, where one unit causes the formation of 1 µmole of phosphoenolpyruvate per minute at 25°C, pH 6.8.
